Description: Symptom: the Multimix is running fine without l...
Steps:
- Put the device head over
- Lift the cover on the rear end (maybe add another spudge to lift a bit more)
- Push the cover to the rear end (cord inlet)
- Lift from the side of the cover and remove cover.
- Remove PH2 screw
- With one or more spudgers lift the back cover slightly
- With a small screwdriver push in the middle of the cover to release the nose (see pic 3)
- Release the retainer tabs around the casing
- Best is to begin on the underside of the device, looking in from behind you can see the retainer tab and release it with a small screwdriver or spudger.
- In picture 3 you can see all retainer locations.
- After opening the case, remove the motor and electronics from the casing. It might be helpful to press the release button (green part).
- To remove the release button, push down till retainer nose is free and the button can be pushed away from the motor.
- Remove the 3 T10 screws and release the 3 retainer tabs.
- Hold the motor with the gearing on top and lift the white enclosure.
- Check gears and replace if needed.
- In my case the sprocket on the motor shaft was broken along a tooth. Under load it lost contact and the motor could turn without the gears moving. I tried fixing it by glueing with some 2K epoxy.
- When assembling the gear set, make sure that the two large gears – which support the beaters – are positioned so that the beaters are offset from each other. The most accurate way to do this is with the beaters temporarily inserted.
