Sony Clie PEG-TH55 Teardown

Description: Teardown of a Sony Clie PEG-TH55

Steps:

1. Open the Memory Stick door on the left side of the device by pulling it away from the device, then allowing it to fall downwards.
2. Push on the inserted memory stick. It will spring out part way.
3. Pull the memory stick out the rest of the way.
4. When reinserting the memory stick, the contacts should face the back of the device.

5. With the device back facing you, remove the battery compartment screw (Y00) on the bottom left.
6. With a spudger, gently remove the battery compartment cover.
7. Disconnect the battery connector.
8. Gently pull the battery out using the black tape (in direction shown by blue arrow).

9. Remove the two Y0 screws on the bottom.
10. Remove the Phillips 00 screw on the left middle.
11. You may have to remove a screw on the left edge. (This was missing on mine.)

12. Flip the device over, and pry the metal upper layer off taking care with the 7 clips holding it to the plastic frame.
