Description: In this guide, we'll show you how to replace...
Steps:
- Note: Prior to changing the keyboard on your laptop, be sure to have a replacement keyboard on hand.
- Use a metal spudger and carefully insert the end of the flat tip into the edge of the keyboard.
- Hold one end of the keyboard down to make prying easier.
- Gently lift the metal spudger until you begin hearing clicking noises; these are the sounds of the keyboard unclasping from the board below.
- Once you lift the keyboard, there will be a metal tab that connects the keyboard to the metal panel below.
- Detach this metal tab slowly.
- The keyboard should be fully detached.
- With your new replacement keyboard, insert the metal tab back into the metal panel. Press gently on the keyboard to lock it into place.
- There should be a few clicking noises as the new keyboard latches onto the metal board.
