Steps:

  1. Note: Prior to changing the keyboard on your laptop, be sure to have a replacement keyboard on hand.

  3. Use a metal spudger and carefully insert the end of the flat tip into the edge of the keyboard.
  4. Hold one end of the keyboard down to make prying easier.
  5. Gently lift the metal spudger until you begin hearing clicking noises; these are the sounds of the keyboard unclasping from the board below.

  7. Once you lift the keyboard, there will be a metal tab that connects the keyboard to the metal panel below.
  8. Detach this metal tab slowly.

  10. The keyboard should be fully detached.
  11. With your new replacement keyboard, insert the metal tab back into the metal panel. Press gently on the keyboard to lock it into place.
  12. There should be a few clicking noises as the new keyboard latches onto the metal board.
