Steps:

  1. Turn off the laptop before starting
  2. Remove the two rubber feet closest to the hinge with a plastic opening tool
  3. Step image
  4. Remove the twelve M2x4mm PH0 Philips head screws.
  5. Step image
  6. Loosen the back cover with a opening tool.
  7. The least damaging way to pry the cover is to start from corner and run the spudger along the edge.
  8. Do not crack or bend the cover.
  9. Step image
  10. Carefully lift open the cover.
  11. Remove the attached purple ribbon cable underneath the cover.
  12. Do not rip the ribbon cable.

  14. Gently lift up the hard drive
  15. Step image
  16. Gently lift up the black tab attached to the strip
  17. Do not rip the ribbon cable.
