Steps:

1. Turn off power to the laptop.
2. Unplug the charging cable from the laptop.
3. Failure to unplug the charging cable could result in damaging the computer or seriously injuring yourself.
4. Wear the anti-static wrist strap or work in an uncarpeted area to prevent static shocks. Shocks may damage the components.

5. First carefully turn the laptop over so you can access the battery.
6. Switch each of the battery latches to the "unlocked" position.
7. Pull battery upwards by the tab to remove from the laptop.

8. Remove the two 5.5mm screws that secure the base cover to the computer's base.
9. Using the plastic opening tool, carefully pry open the base cover starting from the center.
10. Lift the base cover upwards to remove and set it aside.

11. Using your fingertips, spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory-module slot until the memory module pops up.
12. Slide the memory module away from the memory-module slot.
13. When replacing the memory module, the securing clips DO NOT need to be adjusted. Simply slide the memory module in and gently press down on the elevated edge.
