Steps:

1. Power laptop off before beginning.
2. Turn the laptop over so that it is positioned top down with the model number facing you.

3. Use a #0 Phillips screwdriver to remove the two 4.0 mm screws securing the hard drive cover.
4. To avoid losing any parts, we recommend that you place the loose screws on a magnetic project mat.

5. To expose the hard drive, remove the cover by sliding it toward you and pulling up on the panel.

6. Use a #0 Phillips screwdriver to remove the two 4.0 mm screws attaching the hard drive to the laptop.

7. Pull the clear plastic ribbon to the left until the mount is detached from the laptop.
8. There will be some resistance as the hard drive is disconnected. If it does not move at all, check that all anchor screws are removed.
9. Lift the hard drive out of the well.

10. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the one 4.0 mm screw next to the model number label.

11. Use a plastic opening tool to slide the CD-ROM out from the laptop.

12. Slide the "lock" tab upward to unlock the battery before removal.
13. While pushing the "release" tab upward, lift the battery and pull outward to remove it from the laptop.

14. To unsecure the bottom cover, remove all the cover screws using a #0 Phillips screwdriver.
15. Remove the two 9.0 mm screws on each side of the battery.
16. Remove the twelve 8.0 mm long screws alongside the entire back cover.
17. Remove the three 3.0 mm screws inside the battery well.

18. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the latch points located under the silver plastic trim. Repeat this around the back cover.
19. It may be easiest to start around the CD-ROM bay because there is more room.
20. To avoid damaging the plastic trim and cover, do not force difficult areas and make sure the opening tool is completely under the black plastic cover, not just the silver trim.
21. Lift the back cover upward and away from the laptop.

22. Rotate the laptop so that the battery well is closest to you and the fan unit is on the left side.

23. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the two 9.0 mm lid hinge screws next to the left and right speaker unit.

24. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the one 3.0 mm screw attaching the grounding wire to the left lid hinge.

25. Use a metal spudger to pry upward and loosen the lid hinge next to the left and right speaker unit.
26. Pull each lid hinge toward you until they are completely out of the way.

27. Use a plastic opening tool to unsecure the white charging connector above the left speaker unit.
28. Do not pull on the wires as this could rip them from the charging connector.

29. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the one 4.0 mm screw attaching the grounding wire to the large screen cable.
30. This allows you to move the screen cable to access the speaker screw underneath it. Do not disconnect the screen cable itself.
31. Look for a white arrow on the motherboard if you are having trouble identifying this screw.

32. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the two 3.0 mm screws securing the left and right speaker unit to the laptop.

33. Start with the left speaker and carefully guide the unit while unwrapping the black and white wires from the wire guides.
34. Repeat this process with the right speaker unit. These wires will be black and red.
35. Take note of how the wires are wrapped around the hooks.

36. Use a plastic opening tool to unsecure the white speaker wire connector on the motherboard.
37. Do not pull on the wires as this could rip them from the connector.
