How to Clean the Dyson DC14 Cyclone/Internal Channels
ID: 11494
Description: The cyclone's internal channels of your vacuum...
Steps:
- Remove the canister, shown to the left, from your DC17 vacuum. The canister contains the cyclone's internal channels, which are within the gray plastic housing.
- The cyclone will be separated from the canister in the next step.
- Turn the canister around and locate the latch that secures the outer housing of the canister to the cyclone assembly, and push it upwards.
- Now, free the cyclone assembly from the clear, plastic canister housing.
- Clean the inside of the cyclone assembly out. Use a cloth to clean; the more dust you can clear the less dust will end up in the exhaust of your vacuum.
- If you have an air compressor, don't be afraid to use it to blow the dust out of all the nooks and crannies of the cyclone assembly. This is a very sturdy component, and the strong air currents will not damage it.
