Steps:

  1. Flip the camera so that the bottom is facing upwards.
  2. With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all four screws.

  4. Flip the camera so that it is now on the right side.
  5. With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all four screws.

  7. Flip the camera so that it is now on the left side.
  8. Move or remove the flap hiding the camera ports.
  9. With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws.

  11. Flip the camera so that it is now on the top side.
  12. With a spudger, pry off the highlighted metal piece of the camera.

  14. With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all four screws.

  16. Pull the LCD screen up and out of the way.
  17. With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws.
  18. Step image
  19. With a spudger, pry off the frame.
  20. If the frame does not easily dislodge after a few attempts, ensure that all screws are taken out.

  22. Slowly and carefully pull the frame away to have a better view of the inside.

  24. Peel back (or off) the black tape to expose more of the inside of the camera.
  25. Flip the white switch of the highlighted chamber up, and that should unlock the ribbon cable from its compartment.
  26. To see if this worked, gently pull the ribbon cable out of the compartment. It should come out without force.

  28. Disconnect the ribbon cable.

  30. With the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all five screws.
  31. Remove the metal casing.

  35. Ensure the four ribbon cables are disconnected from the motherboard.
  36. Be aware, one is under the black tape.

  38. Begin desoldering all four highlighted areas.

  40. Remove the motherboard.

  42. Remove the discharge flash by giving it a light tug. It is held in place with glue.
  43. Replace the old flash bulb with a new one, and begin the reconstruction of the device.
