Steps:

  1. Remove the cap of the eyeliner.

  3. Wrap the eyeliner applicator tightly with plastic wrap.
  4. The plastic wrap should be just large enough to cover the applicator.
  5. Smooth the bent bristles of the applicator in the same direction.
  6. Smooth the excess plastic wrap along the body of the eyeliner.

  8. Secure the plastic wrap tightly with a rubber band.
  9. The rubber band should circle the middle of the applicator.
  10. Check to make sure there are no holes in the plastic wrap.

  12. Fill a pot with water.
  13. The water level should be high enough to cover the tip of the eyeliner.

  15. Boil the water.
  16. Turn off the heat once the water has reached a boil.

  18. Hold the eyeliner vertically above the pot of water. The applicator should be facing down.
  19. Place the eyeliner applicator into the boiled water for 1 minute.
  20. Do not submerge the eyeliner further than the applicator.

  22. Carefully remove the rubber band and the plastic wrap.
