Steps:

  1. Remove the middle button by putting a plastic spudger or your fingernail underneath the button and lifting up.

  3. There will be two screws under the button you have removed. Use your Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove these screws.

  5. With a plastic spudger or your fingernail, find the seam where the front and back panel connect and pry open from the bottom. After making a small opening, go around the device counter-clockwise.

  7. Before you separate the panels, there is a ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the motherboard. To avoid damage of the ribbon cable, lift the panel with the LCD from right to left like opening a book.

  9. This is the speaker unit, and is being held by a screw. Use a Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove the screw indicated by the red circle in the second image.

  11. The speaker is still connected to the motherboard by a little connector. Using a plastic spudger or your fingernail, pry the connector to the direction marked by the two red arrows in the second image.

  13. After removing the connector, you can now remove the speaker. Use your spudger or fingernail to lift the speaker up. The speaker should come out easily.
