Steps:

  1. Using an opening tool, begin softly prying open device by first inserting it in between the front and back panels.
  2. Continue prying the edges while moving around the device's perimeter until the back can be easily removed.

  4. Carefully lift back panel away from the body of the device.
  5. Be gentle when lifting the back panel. The speaker wires are still connected to both the front and back panel.

  7. Desolder the four wires connecting the rear case to the motherboard.
  8. Disconnect the wires from the motherboard.
  9. Remove the rear case from the device.

  11. Using a pair of tweezers, carefully lift the three zero insertion force connectors (ZIF) attached to the motherboard.

  13. Using the soldering iron, desolder all eight wires connected to the motherboard.
  14. Removing the red wire then the black wire (2 wires).
  15. Desolder the three wires and remove them.
  16. Remove the single grey wire.
  17. Remove the yellow and red twisted wires and black and red twisted wires connected to the speakers.

  19. Remove the four 4mm Phillips #00 screws attached to the motherboard.

  21. Gently lift and remove the motherboard using the iFixit opening tool.
