Steps:

5. Push the gate back, so that it is behind the nose.
6. Be sure to push the gate slowly and carefully, to avoid unnecessary jerking around, which could potentially break the carabiner further.

7. Position the gate back to the original position behind the nose.

8. The gate should now snap back into position securely. If it does not, repeat the process.
9. Be sure that the rivet pin was not bent or broken in the act of guiding the gate back to its original position.
