How to Fisher RS-90 fix AC hum

Steps:

  1. My system emitted a very loud 50 Hz AC hum which made it impossible to hear music
  2. It is caused by ground loops which occur if the receiver and the speakers have different ground levels
  3. To equalize the ground levels at the back of the receiver is a screw to apply a ground cable. Fix a cable there

  4. Plug the other end of the cable into the ground insert of one speaker
  5. The hum should disappear
