Steps:

  1. Open the battery compartment, remove the batteries and remove the two Philips screws
  2. Remove the film casette from the film compartment.

  4. Remove the two Philips screws on the back.

  6. Remove the panel of the controls on the side. Start on the bottom. It is just sticked in with tape

  8. Gently pull the back cover while poking into the two holes on the bottom of the film compartment. Previously removed screws are also sufficient for this task.

  10. To remove the front cover lift the clips highlighted in this picture. The right one is hidden behind the wires.

  12. Congratulations. You did it. Safety Note: The black cylinder under the flash that looks like a battery is the flash capacitor. Ensure that it is discharged before you start tampering with the electronics.
  13. Charged capacitors can pose an electrocution danger. Be sure to discharge the capacitor before you begin working on the device.
  14. To discharge the capacitor shorten the two highlighted solder joints between the flash and capacitor with a big screwdriver or a paper clip. Make sure you do not touch any electronic parts except the two joints.
