Steps:

1. Pin down the ripped portion of the jeans back pocket.
2. Use as many pins as needed to ensure the pocket does not slip from the correct place while sewing.

3. Thread the needle with the polyester thread.
4. Use about an arms length of thread to ensure that you have enough to sew with.

5. Cut the ends of the thread.

6. Tie a double knot at the end of the two threads.

7. Start to sew from the bottom of the pocket up.

8. Remove pins as the needle and thread approaches the pins.

9. Loop the needle through the thread to tie a knot to end and secure the sewing.

10. Cut the loose threads to clean up the sewing.
