Steps:

1. turn off power
2. unplug from wall

3. Use 2.5mm hex key to remove 6 screws from base of printer
4. save screws for later

5. visually inspect all dampers for damage
6. most likely damage is to the rubber section

7. unscrew thumbscrew that tensions the belt
8. save thumbscrew for later

9. use 2mm hex key to remove belt cover
10. remove belt from stepper motor
11. use 2.5mm hex key to remove stepper motor bracket from the top side

12. measure the position of the geared pulley so that you can put it back later
13. use 2.5mm hex key to loosen set screws
14. slide geared pulley off of stepper motor shaft

15. use hex key to remove last screw from the stepper motor mount

16. use hex key to remove 2 screws holding the damper to the stepper motor
17. use Phillips #1 to install new damper
18. alternatively, use hex key to install new damper with old screws

19. re-attach geared pulley
20. re-attach stepper motor mount/bracket to the damper
21. Remember the screws you saved when removing the motor mount?
22. re-attach stepper motor bracket with screws from above
23. re-install pulley / tensioner to top of frame with thumb screw
24. re-tension belt
25. finally re-install the belt cover
26. Some people have suggested that this belt cover is not needed. It is possible that you could re assemble with one of the screws left over from replacing the damper to secure the damper to the mount.
