GE Microwave Oven (JES2051SN2SS) Door Latch Switch Replacement

Description: I fixed this microwave by replacing the door...

Steps:

  1. Unplug the microwve
  2. take out the rotating dish
  3. Remove 2 black screws from right bottom, 1 from left bottom and all 6 SS screws from back holding top on
  4. Pull top back releasing from top edge

  5. Unplug the wires going into the bottom switch that is activated by pushing the button to make the door open
  6. Remove the switch
  7. Push the little tab below the switch in towards the heating area
  8. pivot the switch down (pivots on the pin on the top right)
  9. Pull the switch out
  10. Plug in the new switch before installing (the replacement switch terminals were a little thicker then the old one, I used pliers to force the switch onto the wire connectors)
