AKG Y50BT/C50BT Battery Replacement

Steps:

  1. X-Acto Knife
  2. Tweezer
  3. Philips Screwdriver
  4. Double-sided Tape
  5. AOLIKES 3.7V Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Replacement Battery 1500mAh or equivalent

  6. Remove the left (L) ear pad by rotating it counter clockwise and it will be removed

  7. Remove the four screws using a Philips screwdriver

  8. Turn it upside down and remove the AKG cover. This will expose the battery

  9. Confirm the replacement battery has the wires in the correct orientation (Red / Black / Traveller). If not, pry the connector and remove pin and replace in correct position

  10. Remove pin connector by prying back the connector. Tip - use a tweezer
  11. Connect the replacement battery to ensure it works

  12. The battery is adhered with double sided tape. Carefully remove the battery by using a tool to pry out the tape, i.e. X-Acto knife
  13. Remove the residue by using rubbing alcohol

  14. Insert double-sided tape
  15. Place the battery in an orientation that does not block the screw holes for the cover
