How to Reset a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 Motherboard

Steps:

1. Unplug the computer from the power supply before disassembly.
2. Wait 5 minutes after the device has been powered off.

3. Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove two screws that would grant access to inner components of your computer.
4. Remove the side panel of the computer tower to access the inner components. Slide the panel then lift it to safely remove it.
5. Removing the panel may be different for your computer.

6. Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screw holding the graphics card (GPU) onto the motherboard.
7. Disconnect any power cables that may be attached to your graphics card.
8. Carefully slide the graphics card out from its slot.

9. Remove the CMOS Battery using a plastic opening tool.
10. There may be a spring mechanism available to use to easily remove the battery.

11. Wait 5 minutes to allow enough time for the power to cycle through.

12. Insert battery back into position with the flat side facing upwards.
