Steps:

  1. Turn the mouse over so that the feet are facing you.
  2. Remove the bottom two mouse feet using tweezers.
  3. If you plan on reusing the mouse feet place them with the adhesive side up.

  5. Using a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the two screws that are under the mouse feet.

  7. Slide the base away from the top housing to avoid the front clips.
  8. Lift the top and place it down diagonal over the base, exposing the 5-pin connector.
  9. Avoid putting strain on the thin LED ribbon cables.

  11. Use two fingers to grasp the top of the 5-pin connector under the edges and slowly lift the connector. If it is difficult, wiggle the plug slightly.
  12. Do not pull on the wires.
  13. Remove the cable from around the circuit board and from the hole on the front of the mouse.

  15. Insert the new cable's 5-pin connector plug (red) into the 5-pin connector socket (orange).
  16. Do not push on the wires.

  18. Route the new cable through the slit in the circuit board.
  19. Route the new cable behind the pillars.
  20. Route the cable through the hole at the front of the mouse. Some cables have a fitted square plastic piece that positions the cable, some have thermoplastic which requires the user to position it themselves.
  21. The cable may not stay in place until the top housing is securely fastened back on.

  23. Join the top and bottom housing together with the top around 1cm ahead of the bottom, then pull the top housing back as illustrated.
  24. Once the two sides of the shell are together apply pressure until at least one screw is securely fastening them together.

  26. Screw the two screws back in with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
  27. Do not apply too much force or you risk stripping the screw holes.

  29. Reapply the mouse feet with the adhesive side sticking to the mouse.
  30. There are plastic ridges to help guide the user where to place the mouse feet.
  31. Certain mouse cables come with new mouse feet which can be applied here instead of reapplying the old feet.
