Steps:
- Before starting this repair, power down and turn off the device.
- To remove the battery, push the switch to the left until you hear and feel a click.
- Remove the battery from the device.
- Using a plastic opening tool or spudger, pull up the top part of the T panel.
- After the head of the panel is up, gently pull it up and remove the T panel.
- Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove four 4 mm screws from the hard drive.
- Hold on to the Mylar tab and pull it up to remove the hard drive from the device.
- Be cautious in this step. The connector cable is still connected to the disk and any sudden movements could break or damage it.
- Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 4 mm screws securing the hard drive to the case.
- Hold the opposite side of the disk (the part which does not have the cable connection) and pull it out of the carrying case.
- Remember the connector cable is still attached to the driver, so be careful when moving the driver.
- Gently disconnect the cable from the HDD/SSD and remove the disk drive from the device.
