Steps:
- To open the hood, pull the hood latch located on the left side of the driver's foot well.
- Push a lever (located just above the horse in the grill) to the left.
- Lift the hood up, pull the prop out, and insert it into the hole on the hood labeled "prop."
- Disconnect the battery using an 8 mm socket and 3/8 inch drive ratchet.
- Loosen the band clamp on the throttle body with a flathead screwdriver.
- Loosen the band clamp on the air filter or airbox.
- Pull the intake tube back and to the left to remove it from the throttle body and airbox.
- Place the intake tube out of the way
- Make note of the orientation that the serpentine belt runs. If the tensioner is broken, and the belt is no longer on, refer to a diagram for the vehicle. If still attached, release tension on the belt using a 1/2 inch breaker bar turned in the clockwise direction and remove it.
- Remove the three 10 mm bolts with your 3/8 drive and 10 mm socket.
- Remove the tensioner.
- Install the new tensioner and torque the bolts to 20ft lbs. then using the breaker bar turn clockwise to allow the reinstallation of the belt.
- Using the breaker bar, turn clockwise to allow the reinstallation of the belt.
- Make sure all the grooves of the pullies are seated in the belt correctly, then release the tensioner to seat the belt.
