Steps:

1. Caution: Before beginning this guide, be sure to turn the washing machine off and unplug it from the outlet.
2. The water filter is typically located at the bottom right or bottom left. In this case, it is located at the bottom right.
3. Place a bucket under the water filter to capture excess water before moving on to the next steps.

4. Jiggle the water filter compartment while pulling it towards yourself to remove the compartment.

5. To open the water filter, move the knob to the left with your hand.
6. With your other hand, hold the bucket underneath the filter to capture the excess water.

7. Remove the water filter.
8. Clean hard-to-reach places in the filter with a toothbrush and excess water that was captured with the bucket.

9. Use the toothbrush to clean the slot in the washing machine where the water filter is inserted.

10. Inspect the inside to make sure there is no leftover lint or unnecessary objects that can clog the water filter.

11. Place the water filter back into the washing machine.
12. Turn the filter to the right to tighten it.

13. Pour the bucket of excess water down a drain.
14. If a lot of lint or hair was cleaned out of the water filter, make sure to grab it with one hand as you drain out the water with the other hand.
15. Discard the lint and hair in the trash.
