Steps:

  1. Remove the flat tire by loosening and removing the axle nut with a 19 mm wrench.
  2. Unscrew the axle bolt with a 19 mm socket wrench.
  3. Remove the axle bolt from hole and remove the wheel from the wheelchair.

  5. Insert the 19 mm socket wrench between the rubber tire and the metal frame.
  6. Any rigid flat object will do for this step.
  7. Carefully run the 19 mm socket wrench along the edge of the tire all the way around and bend the wrench down to pop the tire out of the rim.
  8. When undoing the tire, be careful using the back of the wrench because the tool can damage the tire tube and or wheel frame.
  9. Reach inside the tire and remove the tube from the metal frame.
  10. Carefully feed the air valve through the hole in the rim before removing, or you could tear a larger hole in the tire.

  12. Reach inside the tire and remove the tube from the metal frame.

  14. Before replacing the tube, feel along the tire to check for and remove any objects stuck in the tire.
  15. Line up the air valve on the new (partially deflated) tube with the hole on the metal frame.
  16. Working all around the tire, carefully push the tube back into place inside the tire.
  17. Finally, push the tire back into place on the metal frame and inflate the tire.
  18. The tire should be inflated to 50 psi and very hard.

  20. Insert the axle bolt into center of rear wheel.
  21. Insert the wheel with the axle bolt into the lower back of the frame.

  23. Screw the bolt on the outside of the wheel with a 19 mm socket wrench.
  24. Screw the nut on the inside of the wheel with a 19 mm wrench.
