Audiovox CR8030iE5 Docking Port Replacement

Steps:

1. Turn the device upside down.
2. Apply constant pressure to the base of your Audiovox, while holding the plastic casing until the casing is completely removed.

3. Remove the four screws from the base using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

4. Turn the device right-side up.
5. Gently pull the top panel off of the device.

6. Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screw found in the middle of the board.

7. Pull back the board gently to avoid disconnecting the attached wires.
8. This allows you to view the soldered connections on the other side, and the internal components.

9. One by one, de-solder the line of nine wires attached to the docking port board. After pulling out the wires, save them. This is done so that you can solder them into the new docking port board.

11. Soldering irons are extremely hot and can burn you if you touch them!
12. If you hold the soldering iron tip at the same spot for too long, it can strip the metal from the plastic board. You may not be able to solder wire to that point again.

13. Carefully insert the wires into the designated holes on the new docking port board and solder them into place.
