Urbanize Lazer NTA Helmet Rear Light Battery Replacement
ID: 144558
Description: I recently bought a Urbanize Lazer NTA helmet...
Steps:
- Open the case by hitting the edges with a hammer or similar tool and pry it open with a knife. (The red plastic is ultrasonic welded to the black case). Then remove the white LED, it has a little foam sticker on the back. Then remove the three screws, then the PCB. The battery also has a foam sticker on the back.
- Replace the 170mAh battery for a 250mAh battery with a soldering iron. Please check the polarity. Red is plus, black is minus.
- If the battery is too thick, then use a soldering iron to make a bit more room for the battery. Rub the iron on the plastic until the battery fits nicely below the PCB and the PCB rests on the three screw posts again.
- If the back of the light has too big protrusions for your liking, then use the soldering iron to smooth it.
- Before gluing, first assemble the light to see if there is enough room and you can still close the case properly and are able to use the button.
- Then use a bit of superglue to fix the battery to the case, then place the PCB, put the three screws, then put the white LED in the center. Place the rubber seal in the black case, then use superglue along the whole edge on the red plastic and press both parts firmly together.
