Disassembling a wheel of a Proscenic Cocosmart 820T Robot vacuum cleaner

Description: Label: PROSCENIC Ref.: Cocosmart 820T Type:...
Steps:
- The photo shows the goal to be achieved by the end of this guide. In the photo, hair and dust have accumulated in the wheel, blocking its proper operation.
- This is the Proscenic Cocsmart 820T Robot vacuum cleaner. Don't you find it adorable?
- Flip the robot over and gently pull on the "cleaning brushes" (see photos) until they unclip.
- You can check and compare the ball bearing of both wheels by gently spinning each one in turn with your fingers.
- In the photo, we want to repair the left wheel (marked "L" for "Left"). Therefore, we will only remove the cover on the left side, from the front part of the robot.
- Remove the 4 Phillips screws from the plastic cover on the front part of the robot and remove this part.
- Remove the 3 Phillips screws from the wheel.
- This part is more complicated than the others. There is a spring that maintains the wheel's mobility. This spring is hooked into the robot on one side, and onto the wheel on the other side.
- Pull on the wheel to create enough space to access the part of the spring hooked to the wheel, then release the spring by pulling on it slightly (with your finger or a screwdriver).
- To put the spring back onto the wheel (see 2nd photo), I use a screwdriver to help: I insert the tip of the screwdriver into the "loop" of the spring and pull the spring toward the wheel's attachment point (see photo). The spring must pass over the attachment point. Once set, reposition the wheel while blocking the spring with the screwdriver.
- Disconnect the wheel power and control cable by pushing on the sides of the connector (see photo).
- Open the wheel compartment by unscrewing 6 Phillips screws.
- PS: in the second photo, with the compartment open, pay no attention to the fastener of the last gear. I took this photo after having completely disassembled the wheel. Instead of replacing the circlip (which we will talk about in the next step), I used a piece of wire. It is easier to remove.
- Certainly the most complicated part of the guide: removing the metal clip that holds the wheel on its axle.
- To remove the "circlip," you can use circlip pliers. But, like me, you can try to open the circlip by pushing its ends with 2 screwdrivers, as shown in the photo.
- All that remains is to unhook the wheel and clean it (see the first photo of the guide).
- The mechanical part of the wheel, with the gears, can be cleaned and greased.
