Steps:
- Turn the infrared sensor switch to "off."
- The sensor light will turn from red to gray.
- Remove the ice bucket from the freezer by pressing your right thumb on the button to the right and lifting the ice bucket.
- Empty the ice from the ice bucket.
- You can transfer the ice to a different container if you would like to preserve it and refreeze it.
- Defrost the ice bucket and dry it thoroughly with a dish towel.
- One way to defrost the ice bucket is to let it sit at room temperature for about 10-20 minutes.
- Another way is to run it under hot water.
- Use the blunt end of a tool (e.g., a sharpening steel or the handle of a wooden spoon) to unclog ice from the dispensing chute.
- Be careful to not scratch or otherwise damage the dispensing chute with the tool, as this can lead to interruptions in the dispensing of ice.
- Wipe away any remaining ice with a warm cloth.
- Return the ice bucket to the freezer.
- If the ice bucket does not seat securely, rotate the auger slightly.
- Once the auger is aligned with the motor coupler, place the ice bucket on top of the motor surface.
- Let the ice bucket cool for 10-15 minutes to cool to its original temperature. This will prevent ice from clogging the dispensing chute once the ice maker is turned on.
- If you chose to preserve the original ice in Step 3, return it to the ice bucket once the ice has cooled.
- Turn the infrared sensor switch to “on.”
- The sensor light will turn from gray to red.
- Press the ice dispensing lever to make sure the ice dispenses properly.
