  6. The alignment key should fit perfectly on the truss rod in order to align properly.

  8. Gently turn the tuning key clockwise to increase the distance between the bridge and strings, or counter-clockwise to reduce the distance between the bridge and strings.
  9. Twisting the key too hard might break the bridge. The twist should be smooth.
  10. After one twist at the rod, be sure to check the bridge to see if it will need more aligning.

  12. Tighten the strings up again using the tuning pegs.
  13. Do not over tighten the strings; doing so can cause them to break.
