Description: This guide will show you how to realign a...
Steps:
- Place the guitar on a flat surface.
- Use the tuning pegs to loosen the strings.
- Place the alignment key on the truss rod.
- The alignment key should fit perfectly on the truss rod in order to align properly.
- Gently turn the tuning key clockwise to increase the distance between the bridge and strings, or counter-clockwise to reduce the distance between the bridge and strings.
- Twisting the key too hard might break the bridge. The twist should be smooth.
- After one twist at the rod, be sure to check the bridge to see if it will need more aligning.
- Tighten the strings up again using the tuning pegs.
- Do not over tighten the strings; doing so can cause them to break.
- Tune the guitar using a tuner.
- Some Dean guitars have a built-in tuner.
