  4. Keep your fingers away from the box cutter to avoid injury.
  5. Create shallow slices to avoid cutting through the sandal.

  7. Insert a toothpick into the bottom slit.
  8. Use the toothpick as a lever to wedge open the flap.
  9. Use an extra toothpick if the first one breaks.
