How to Add New Holes to Birkenstock Sandal Straps
ID: 145343
Description: Birkenstock sandals are some of the best...
Steps:
- Unbuckle the straps on the sandal.
- Lay the long straps flat on the wooden block.
- Measure the distance between the holes on the strap.
- This will allow the new hole to look neat and aligned with the original holes. The holes are typically about a centimeter apart.
- Use the measurement from Step 3 to measure the distance between an existing hole and the new hole you're adding.
- Mark where your new hole will be on the strap with a pencil.
- Place the nail on the pencil mark on the strap, and hammer it through so the nail goes completely through the strap and into the wood under the strap.
- Hammer the nail straight down in order to avoid damage to the leather or suede strap.
- Buckle the straps and make sure the pin on the buckle is able to go through the new hole.
- If the pin is unable to go through the hole, put the nail back through the hole with your hand. Wiggle it around in the hole in order to expand the hole slightly. Do this until the pin is able to go through the hole.
