Electrolux dryer, motor failure, stationary drum. Model EDH3386GZW, type TC09H63HP, product number 91609703100.
ID: 146915
Description: This guide helps diagnose E5E error and a...
Steps:
- When the cycle starts, the light turns off but the drum remains stationary. Error code E5E is displayed on the screen.
- Error code E5E: Three-phase motor error (Inverter). Communication problem between the motor electronic module and the front control board. Check the connections and wiring between the two parts. Replace the motor module as a priority.
- Unplug the dryer's power cable before starting!
- All screws are Torx screws.
- First, remove the top panel (two screws at the rear), then the right side panel (2 screws at the top and 4 screws at the rear).
- The motor power board is located on the right side, at the bottom right, inside the white plastic cage. Identify the cables and disconnect them, then remove the board.
- You can buy the complete board and replace it. Part number 1366240214 in the Electrolux online shop. Budget €180.
- In my case, I replaced the burned components. Two burn marks are visible. I first replaced the red and orange components. Since that didn't work, I tried the blue component with success. Requires electronics skills. Budget €10, lower environmental impact.
- Desolder the components with hot air. Clean the PCB with IPA alcohol. Wire the new components.
- Blue tag: TL431ACH component 8 connector pin package bought on ebay.
- Red tag: LNK364GN component SMD-8 package bought on ebay.
- Orange tag: 10 ohms SMD 0805 fuse resistance + PTFE wire in my possession. The PTFE is the material of the sheath, which resists the heat of the soldering iron. To gain access to the PCB copper, scrape off the green varnish to remove it.
