Steps:

1. Turn off the computer.
2. Disconnect the power cord and any external devices connected to the computer.
3. Make sure the device is completely turned off or else you may risk injury through electric shock.

4. Flip the device so that the back plate of the laptop is up.
5. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 6 mm Phillips screws from the bottom cover.
6. You might have to use a spudger to remove any rubber bezels that cover the screws.
7. Pry off the back cover with the spudger tool.

8. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven 5 mm screws that secure the fan and heatsink.

9. Peel back the retention tape that secures the heat sink assembly.

10. Disconnect the fan cable from the connector on the system board.

11. Remove the heat sink assembly from the device.
