Steps:

1. Turn off the laptop.
2. Disconnect the charging cable.
3. Failure to disconnect the charging cable and power down the computer could result in personal or property damage.
4. Flip the laptop so the back is facing up.

5. Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the five 6 mm screws that secure the back panel.
6. Use the same screwdriver to remove the six 13 mm screws securing the back panel.

7. Insert the plastic opening tool at a corner and pry up along the edges, leaving the back side with the hinges for last.
8. Do not insert the opening tool too far into the laptop to avoid damaging internal components.

9. Gently lift up the back panel to release any remaining clips on the side with the hinges and remove the panel.

10. Pull the motherboard clips away from the sides of the RAM chip.
11. The RAM chip will pop up at an angle.

12. At an angle, gently but firmly pull the RAM chip to remove it from the slot.
13. To install RAM, insert the RAM into the slot and press flat until the clips make an audible "click."
