Steps:

  1. First, remove the pink panels on each side of the handle in order to access the screws.
  2. Use the iFixit opening tool to remove the pink panels.

  4. After removing the pink panels, there will be one visible screw on each side of the dryer handle measuring at 11mm.
  5. Carefully unscrew both of these screws with a tri-point Y000 screwdriver.
  6. Next, completely remove the screws out of the dryer handle.

  8. Remove the barrel by twisting and pulling it away from the handle of the dryer.
  9. Before attempting to take the barrel off, make sure the dryer powered completely off and is cool to the touch.

  11. Next, slide down the air inlet and the setting dial to reveal the 11mm screws on each side of the handle at the bottom of the hair dryer.

  13. There will be one visible screw on each side of the dryer at the bottom of the handle, measuring at 11mm.
  14. Carefully unscrew both of these screws with a tri-point Y000 screwdriver.
  15. Store screws in a safe place, you will need them to reassemble the device later.

  17. Place the iFixit opening tool along the seams of the handle and pry the two pieces apart.

  19. Once you have exposed the inside of the dryer, you will see a clear port at the very end where the cord is connected and plugged into.
  20. Now, with your thumb and pointer finger gently pinch the top and bottom of the clear port.
  21. Next with your free hand carefully pull the cord out of the port of the dryer handle.

  23. Once the cord is disconnected from the handle, you should be able to slide the dial setting off completely and free it from the cord.

  25. Remove the air inlet by sliding it completely off of the wire.

  27. Take the lint filter out from the air inlet by peeling it from the sides.

  29. Once the lint filter is detached from the plastic filter protector, you can now replace it.
