Steps:

1. Turn off the laptop.
2. Disconnect the charging cable.
3. Failure to disconnect the charging cable and power down the computer could result in personal or property damage.
4. Flip the laptop so the back is facing up.

5. Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the five 6 mm screws that secure the back panel.
6. Use the same screwdriver to remove the six 13 mm screws securing the back panel.

7. Insert the plastic opening tool at a corner and pry up along the edges, leaving the back side with the hinges for last.
8. Do not insert the opening tool too far into the laptop to avoid damaging internal components.

9. Gently lift up the back panel to release any remaining clips on the side with the hinges and remove the panel.

10. Using an ESD-safe spudger, disconnect the charging port connector by pulling the plug away from its port.

11. Remove the two 6mm screws holding the screen hinge and charging port in place using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

12. Firmly lift the screen hinge out of the way.
13. The hinge supports the weight of the screen, so it is stiff. Use consistent force.

14. Remove the charging port by lifting it free of the hole in the case.
15. It may require some shifting or angling to come free.
