Description: Use this guide to replace a cracked or...
Steps:
- Make sure that the presser foot (the part that holds fabric in place) is in the raised position before removing the bobbin cover.
- Lift the bobbin cover case found beneath the needle.
- Pull the defective bobbin out of the bobbin case and dispose of it properly.
- Empty the thread from the defective bobbin before disposing of it so you can use the excess thread.
- Take the new bobbin and place it inside the bobbin case.
- Pull at least two inches of thread from the end of the bobbin so you're able to access it and it doesn't get tangled.
- Pull the thread at the end of the bobbin that's sticking out from the base of the machine.
- Insert the thread carefully to the tension-adjusting spring of the bobbin case.
- The Brother CE8080 has a built-in arrow guide that shows you where to insert the thread.
- Cut off excess thread using fabric scissors.
- Make sure to cut the end of the thread at a slanted angle to prevent thread breakage.
- Place the bobbin cover back in its original position on the sewing machine.
- Make sure it "clicks" when placing the bobbin cover back. The click sound ensures that the cover is locked.
