ID: 151861
Description: The Dell Latitude E6430 is a weighty business...
Steps:
- As always before laying hand on any electronic device we have to remove the battery. Also make sure you haven't connected the power supply.
- To remove the battery turn the device around and look for the two latches on the left and right side (red rectangles).
- With the battery removed you may now remove the two screws next to the docking station connector (green circles)
- Turn around the device and open the screen. Before the keyboard may be removed you have to remove the frame around it.
- Use a spudger between the c-cover and the frame. Begin at the top and don't be shy as the frame is quite sturdy and flexible.
- With the frame removed it should look like in the last photo.
- There are four screws which have to be unscrewed to proceed.
- Lift up the keyboard carefully as it is still connected by a ribbon cable. (green rectangle)
- To be able to pull out the ribbon cable you have to lift the plastic lever on top in the direction of the orange arrow.
- Congratulations. You have successfully removed the keyboard.
- You may now replace it with a spare.
- With the keyboard removed you could remove dust and crumbs accumulated in your notebook.
