How to fix mouse wheel clicks on G903
ID: 154926
Description: Although this guide states the soles cannot be...
Steps:
- Remove the soles (the aluminosilicate glass feet or slides) to access the screws, then remove them.
- Separate the upper and lower case parts by splitting them into two from where they are connected.
- If you remove the factory soles, you can't put them back on, so you need to buy them in advance. (See Prequisite guide for removal and replacement of the feet (soles).)
- Do not pull too hard when opening the case since the wires inside are still connected.
- There are 7 screws in total, 1 near the USB connector and 6 under the soles.
- Remove the pin by pushing it with a thin stick or screwdriver
- Lift the wheel to remove it.
- Peel off the Kapton tape on the metal dome switch and take out the metal plate inside
- Remove all of the kapton tape
- DON'T LOSE IT! Once it's gone, it's almost impossible to find it, (Be careful as it will fly away in the wind).
- Bend so that the center rises by about 0.2mm
- Be sure to secure it firmly before proceeding.
- Do not bend it too much.
- Put the metal plate back
- Affix Kapton tape to fix (if not available, cellotape can be substituted.)
- Shape Kapton tape (scotch tape) with a cutter, etc.
