Steps:

1. Unlike other TomTom devices, there are no screws on the housing! (there are also none hidden under any stickers)
2. Because of that, to open the housing therefore consists only in the levering of the detents.
3. There are 3 notches on the narrow sides and 4 on the long sides.
4. Use a blunt knife to go into the joint (hold the knife at a slight angle) and pry off the cover, piece by piece.
5. It is best to start in one corner; there is a larger groove on the underside, but it is of no advantage to start there.

6. Be careful when opening the case: the thin red/black cable is additionally fixed with some adhesive tape; remove the tape carefully.
7. Since the battery is freely accessible at the front, it is not necessary to remove the cables to the front part. It is sufficient to hold the case open at a slight angle.

8. Carefully lever out the battery connector from the side and remove the battery (attached with double-sided adhesive tape).
