- Remove the second nut securing the kingpin in place.
- Remove the faulty kingpin from the truck.
- If the kingpin is stuck in the truck, firmly hammer it to get it loose.

- Insert the new kingpin and hammer it in if needed.
- Be careful of your fingers when hammering the kingpin back in. Injury can result from even a glancing hit.
- Put the nut that secures the kingpin back in place.
- Put the axle back on the truck and kingpin.
- Put the final nut back onto the kingpin to secure it to the axle.
- Tighten the nut on the kingpin using a 9/16" socket wrench or skate tool.
- Reattach the wheels to the truck using the 1/2" socket wrench or skate tool.
- Reattach the truck to the skateboard using Phillips #1 screwdriver and 3/8" socket wrench or skate tool to screw the nut back on the screw.
- Be sure that the kingpin is facing the end of the board when putting the trucks back on.
