Steps:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the faucet.
  2. Set the faucet to the "ON" position; this will reveal a set screw located on the back of the upper section.
  3. Release the set screw (the tool is included with the replacement part).
  4. Unplug the upper section by pulling it upwards.
  5. Use a 17 mm open-end wrench to release the cartridge; unscrew carefully, remove the cartridge, clean the interior of the housing, and insert the new cartridge.
  6. Place the upper section back on (ensure it is seated correctly).
  7. Tighten the set screw.
  8. Turn on the water supply.
