Steps:
- Ensure the underside of the hood is clean, and that there is no oil on it.
- To remove built-up grease, you can use dish soap and a sponge.
- Make sure there is no food on the stove.
- Have the range hood lights on, as you need to be able to see everything.
- Gently unscrew and open the hood panel that is covering the lights with a screwdriver.
- Slowly pull down the lid of the light box.
- Beware of any shattered light bulbs. To be safe, place a newspaper or a towel under, on the stove. As this catches all the glass and prevents any injuries.
- Turn the lights off.
- Wait to ensure the lightbulb is cooled down.
- Do not touch the lightbulb as soon as you have turned it off; it is extremely hot.
- Use a towel to unscrew the light bulbs clockwise from inside the hood or if it is cooled down completely you can use your bare hands.
- If the bulb has been shattered, ensure that you are twisting the remaining parts carefully. Watch for sharp ends.
- Check the information on the needed light bulb, then purchase a new one. The bulb is 40 W.
- Often there is a sticker attached to the bulb with the information.
- Insert the new lightbulb back and turn it to tighten it.
