Steps:
- In a measuring cup, add 1 cup of white vinegar.
- Add 2 cups of water.
- You can also buy premade descaling solution.
- Turn off the machine.
- Twist off the water reservoir cap.
- Fill the water reservoir to the top with the descaling solution.
- Twist the water reservoir cap back on.
- Turn the knob to the brew setting.
- The descaling solution will be extremely hot while it is brewing out.
- Turn the knob to off as soon as the solution comes out.
- Fill a cup with the descaling solution.
- Remove the steaming wand cover.
- Place the cup where the steaming wand is emerged in the descaling solution.
- Soak the steaming wand for 1-2 hours.
- Remove the cup from under the steaming wand.
- Insert an interdental brush or toothpick into the steaming wand.
- Move the interdental brush or toothpick around to remove any mineral build up.
- Moving the interdental brush or toothpick in an up and down motion and a small circular motion will help remove the most mineral build up.
- Place an empty cup or mug under the steaming wand.
- Turn the knob to the steam setting.
- If no steam comes out repeat steps 4-6.
- Unplug the machine.
- Let the machine sit overnight to depressurize.
- Unscrewing the reservoir cap before letting it sit overnight could result in the machine improperly depressurizing and expelling the hot descaling solution.
- Twist off the water reservoir cap.
- Pour out the remaining descaling solution.
- Rinse the reservoir twice by filling it with water and pouring it out.
- Fill the reservoir with water.
- Brew and steam all the water out of the reservoir.
- You must turn the knob to the brew or steam setting to get the water out of reservoir.
- Repeat this process 4 times.
