Steps:

1. Before you begin your repair, perform the following:
2. Turn off the main water supply
3. Unplug your washer
4. Disconnect all water connections at the rear of your washer

5. Open the front door completely.

6. Use needle nose pliers to grip the spring end of the metal ring at the bottom of the rubber boot.
7. Pull the ring away from the chassis to separate it from the boot.

8. Use your hand to completely pull the ring off the boot.
9. During reassembly, perform the following:
10. Insert one end of the ring into its groove along the boot's perimeter.
11. Use pliers to slowly stretch the ring around the boot's perimeter until it's completely nested in its groove.
12. Be sure the spring is centered at the bottom of the boot when you reinstall it.
13. This procedure will take significant force.

14. Use your fingers to pull the boot off its lip in the front panel.

15. Work your fingers around the boot's perimeter until its completely separated from the panel.

16. Use your hands to fold the boot into the drum.

17. Use a Phillips driver to remove the two 16 mm‑long screws securing the door latch.

18. Reach between the boot and the chassis to grip the door latch.
19. Pull the door latch toward the back of the device to remove it from its slot in the chassis.
20. Pull the latch towards the left edge of the device to completely expose it.
21. Don't try to fully remove the door latch yet. It's still connected to its wiring harness.

22. Disconnect the harness connector on the door latch.
23. Always grip cables by their connectors and not the wires themselves.
24. Remove the door latch.
