Philips MCM11/22 CD Player not working

Steps:

  1. Problem description: CD player no longer works; the display constantly shows "Reading," but the CD cannot be started

  2. First, unscrew the side panels and the cover; the CD player will then be visible. (The CD does not even start to spin because the laser cannot detect a CD.)

  3. There is a very small potentiometer on the PCB below the laser lens; turn it clockwise by approximately 30°. This slightly increases the laser current, allowing the CD to be read again.
