Creative headphone-pad replacement (crochet)

Description: The thin earphone-pads of many (cheap) headsets...

Steps:

1. Remove the broken pad (unless it's already fallen off)

2. Yarn and suitable crocheting needle

3. for this mending project, crocheting skills are required (which isn't hard to learn). A lot of tutorials, e.g. how to crochet a small spiral coaster, do exist on the internet. The same principles apply
4. make starting loop and crochet 6 chain stitches
5. close to a round with another stitch

6. in the second round crochet two stitches in every stitch of the previous round. The stich count is doubled in this round.

7. in the 3rd round crochet two stitches in every other stitch of the previous round
8. for the 4th round double every 3rd stitch and so on, until you reach the desired size

9. for the edge, crochet 2-3 rounds straight, i.e.: one stitch in each stitch of the previous round

10. in the last round, skip every 4th or 5th stitch so the rim is pulled together a little bit and won't fall off
11. check for fitting before cutting off yarn!

12. you can turn the pad so it shows the side you like best on the outside. Pull the threads to the "inside" so you cannot see them
13. optional: cut threads

14. put on the crocheted pad - done!
