Steps:

1. Turn off your multimeter.
2. Disconnect the probes from your multimeter.

3. Flip the multimeter over so that the kickstand side is facing up.
4. Swing the kickstand up all the way.

5. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the single screw securing the battery cover.
6. This screw is captive and won't fall out.

7. Swing the bottom edge of the battery cover out from the multimeter.
8. Lift and remove the battery cover.

9. Remove and replace the AAA batteries.
