Steps:

  1. Connect the hot side of an AC power cord to the Line In to the W-11
  2. Connect the neutral side to a light bulb, lamp, etc.
  3. Connect the Line Out of the WC-11 to the other side of the light bulb. Use a jumper wire.
  4. Connect the oscilloscope leads to the hot and neutral sides of the light bulb.
  5. Be sure that all the wiring is secure so that nothing shorts out during the testing.
  6. Plug in the AC plug to a 110 volt outlet

  7. Turn on the W-11 power switch.
  8. Does the light turn on? If not, check your wiring.
  9. Turn off the power, take apart the W-11 and test the power switch with a continuity tester/multimeter.
  10. Set up the oscilloscope to observe the AC sine wave.

  11. Press the Light button
  12. Check the ossilloscope.
  13. Do you see the small signal that appears on the rising side of the AC sine wave?

  15. Do you see the signal on the falling side of the AC sine wave?

  16. Press the fan and light switches simultaneously.
  17. Do you see the signals on both the rising and falling sides of the AC sine wave?
