Steps:

1. Rinse the new cartridge under running water for about 20 seconds until the cartridge no longer produces black water.

2. Close the water valve clockwise.

3. Remove the shower head by turning it counterclockwise with a wrench.

4. Unscrew the filter counterclockwise.

5. If the two clear rubber rings in the lid are about to fall off, press them back into the recess of the lid with your hand.

6. Carefully remove the old cartridge. Do not let the clear adhesive rings on the top or bottom half of the lid fall out.
7. If the transparent rubber ring in the top half of the lid is about to come off, press them back into the recess of the lid with your hand.

8. Place the new cartridge in the filter.
9. Tighten the water filter clockwise by hand.

10. Wrap tape around the filter-shower connection to prevent leaks.

11. Install the shower head back on and tighten it clockwise with a wrench.
